Designers Note
Takeshi is a bold and dynamic Japanese-inspired display font that blends traditional calligraphy with modern design elements. Featuring strong, brush-style strokes and high contrast between thick and thin lines, Takeshi conveys a sense of energy and movement, making it ideal for eye-catching headlines, posters, and branding projects with an Asian aesthetic. The characters exhibit authentic handwritten qualities, capturing the essence of ink brush techniques while maintaining digital clarity. With a full set of Japanese characters and Latin alphabet support, Takeshi offers versatility for bilingual designs. Its striking appearance works particularly well in media, fashion, gaming, and cultural promotions where a powerful visual impact is desired. Designed for both print and digital use, Takeshi performs excellently at large sizes, ensuring maximum legibility and dramatic effect. This font is free for personal and commercial use, making it a valuable resource for designers seeking expressive typography with an Eastern flair. Add a touch of bold elegance to your next project with Takeshi.
I just finished book 8 of The Expanse (by James S.A. Corey) and the name Takeshi popped up somewhere, so I decided to use it for this font family! Takeshi is a hand made set of fonts: a fat display font, a thinner complementary font and a doodle font. Enjoy!
